Duration: 1 to 2 hours on a ready-to-use hand-operated loom, and you’ll take your sample home with you at the end of the class
Course outline: You will weave on a hand-operated loom on which a black or white warp has already been set up (the threads stretched across the loom will already be in place), and you will choose the weft threads to use for weaving. You will learn the basic techniques of weaving – that is, the actual act of weaving – and experiment with different weaves (weaving patterns).
At the end of the class, you’ll be able to take your sample home with you and either sew it or frame it. Participants usually weave about 15–20 cm per hour.
You can also sign up for the pouch (1h) or the cushion (3 hours) workshops if you’d like me to make something for you.
Rate: CHF 40 per hour (equipment included).
